Question
Hi:  I would like to refinish a chest I purchased.  I stored it in a shed, and when I went to work on it, I was totally unable to pull out any of the drawers which did come out when I initially purchased the piece.  Do you have any solutions to this problem?  Thanks so much.  Marie

Answer
Hi Marie
Nice to hear from you.
A very common problem Marie and one that should correct itself if you get the chest in the house with some heat.
It has absorbed moisture, the wood has swelled, and the drawers stick.
Hope this helps
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
