Question
I have a leather recliner and hassock.  The swivel feature on the bottom of the chair--the lazy susan for want of a better term--has worn out so I removed it and the chair now sits flat on the floor.

Is there a place where I can buy a replacement swivel?

David Derr

Answer
Hi David,  the swivel base was manufactured by Leggitt & Platt.  They may be able to tell you what retailer will sell the base.

Try Lee's Upholstery Supply 1 800 347 5337, if they are wholesale only tell them you are David Derr upholstering, it is for your own use and you will pay the sales tax.

You can also buy the swivel base from Keyston Bros. in San Francisco,  415 285 5050 they are wholesale, again, tell them you are David Derr upholstering and that it is for your own use and want to pay the sales tax.

The item you need is called a chair swivel base, if it has legs it is called a spider swivel base.  If it also has a rocker it is a rocker-swivel base.  It is possible you may be able to locate it on line using those names.

I hope this helps.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need further information.
