Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/loose bed posts

Question
I have a king size rice bed. Due to frequent moving &/or redecorating the posts have become stripped and will not tighten to the head and foot boards any longer, how may I fix this.

Answer
Hi Nicky,

I understand the problem, but need a little more information before I can answer your question.

How do the posts connect to the side rails? Are there actual screws into wood, or bed frame hardware? If you're screwing directly into wood, is that what is stripped? Or are the metal fasteners stripped, like a bolt and nut?

I am guessing that you have a head and foot board (with posts at each end?) and two side rails that connect them all together into a "box" , am I correct? Are all the post connections stripped, or just one or two?

One thing that might help- if you want, you can send me a JPEG of the problem, which might be better for describing the problem. Send the images to:  jamie@wooditis.com and I will try to help.

I'll wait to hear from you, and hope we can solve this problem!
