Cabinets, Furniture, Woodworks/new veneer for a Lane ceader chest

Question
We have an old cedar chest that had water damage and all the veneer has come off.  I would like to put new veneer on it.  I have never worked with veneer. Does Lane have replacement veneer available? I would like to do it myself. Where could I get some help?

Answer
Hi Gene
Nice to hear from you.
Replacing veneer is not an easy job. It requires an expert hand in my opinion LOL
If you asked me to do this for you I would have to refuse.
But there are lots of places where veneer is available, and lots of how to's also.
Heres one of many places I found with a Google search "applying wood veneer".

Hope this helps, and I do not want to talk you out of this, but one air pocket under veneer and the job is ruined...possibly the chest too.
Kindest Regards

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
