Question
Is there a quick step in "deglossing" or priming a stained piece of furniture in preperation for paint?  I have a 2 year old and very little time for the full stripping technique.

Answer
Hi Courtney
Nice to hear from you.
Certainly there is.
Get a box of TSP powder and a box of medium steel wool at the hardware.
Mix according to box directions.
Use the steel wool as a scrubber dipped in the TSP solution.
Thats it...prime and paint.
No dust no fuss.
Hope this helps and thanks for a great question

Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
