Question
I currently looking at building a mission style sofa for our home. In looking at the drawings, they all have a plywood bottom instead of springs. What type of cushions and foam for the cushions would I need to make this sofa comfortable?

Answer
Hi,  either an oldfashioned spring cushion, made with a center spring and then wrapped with foam and cotton.  Or an all foam cushion at least 6" thick.  the distance from the top of the cushion to the floor should be 18" knowing that will allow you to decide the thickness of the cushion.  A very firm 4" foam with 1" of a softer foam on both sides will make a cushion that is firm but not so hard as to be uncomfortable.

I hope this helps.  Pls. don't hesitate to contact me if you have further questions.
