Question
Why do people generally put veneer sheets only inside cabinet doors and not outside? What are the problems I may face with cabinet doors with veneer sheets glued to them? Pl suggest what type of venner should I select for getting best results. Thanks for your help. Prabha

Answer
Hi Prabha
Nice to hear from you.
Usually veneer is applied on the outside because its costly.
You usually see good cupboard doors with veneer on both sides too.
Veneer is usually applied to a type of medium density fibreboard and no problems should arise with cabinet doors made that way.
I love birch or oak veneer myself so look at both of those woods.
Hope this helps

Eileen

Expertise

Hi..I can answer most questions about the repairing, stripping and refinishing of all your old furniture and wood items(the things we call antiques)I can give advice about what to buy/avoid at auctions/flea markets. I do not give appraisals on antiques.

Experience

I have been refinishing antiques for the past 30yrs. While I have taken several courses over the years,I have found that "hands on" learning is the best teacher. Perhaps I can help you avoid some of the mistakes I made while learning.
