Question
We have had the same issue as a previous question. . connecting the cable to our television blows a fuse.  We live in an older home, is the cable cord itself grounded?!?1.. if not, would that cause the problem.  Also, the television we are connecting is a new plasma television. . .how much of an effect would that have on the situation?

Answer
Most catv systems are grounded on exterior of home, before entering residence. This sounds to be a ground issue with catv and a possible polarity (reversal) problem with the inside electrical wiring of house. With the older wiring this could cause a common problem, especially when their is only a two wire electrical wire running to outlet, which did not have a third wire for grounding purpose's. I would have a qualified electrician to check the catv outlet for any AC voltage. Have electrician check electrical outlet for a possible reverse polarity of common and hot wire's, which could be wired in reverse. This has the potential of damaging tuner on your new TV. Please reply to let me know what you find out and good luck with getting your problem resolved.
