Cactus/saguaro cactus

Question
Hi...a small arm of my saguaro broke off and is lying on the ground. I realize I need to investigate why since it could be a bacteria or other issue so I will do that. My question though, is how do I remove the piece on the ground because it looks ugly? It's too small to warrant the cost of hiring a professional so I was considering just cutting it into small pieces with a chainsaw and using a shovel to toss them in the dumpster. Will that work or is not a good idea? What can I do?

Answer
Hello Jacque,
What you decide depends on the size of the saguaro arm and location. If it is on dirt, and the arm was big, then you can cut it into smaller pieces and throw it away with a shovel. If the arm is on gravel, then you will have to throw some of the gravel away, as it will take for ever to pick up the cactus arm itself. If it is on concrete, than you can easily remove that.
