Greetings sir. I recently aqquired an aloe plant from a near by store, and noticed when I got home that there were roots growing out of the bottom of the pot. I would eagerly repot it, but whenever I repot a plant, it dies shortly thereafter. Do you have any advice on repotting it? Or should I just leave it be?

Dear Amanda,

I think you will be alright repotting your Aloe. I assume that you are referring to an Aloe Vera. Although it does not look like it, it is one of the toughest plants around. Go ahead and replant it. The only thing to be careful about is how much you water it. Aloes can be sensitive to too much water.

Water it good after you repot it, but then don't water again until the soil is dry. Make sure that you use a fast draining soil like a "cactus mix" from your local nursery.
