Cactus/Argentine giant

Question
If I cut one or two arms off an argentine giant to start new plants, do I leave it to dry before planting?  If so how long and then what?

Answer
Gerry,

Yes you do. Let it heal for about 2 weeks. Once the cut area has hardened, plant it in either cactus mix type soil or just plain dirt. Try to orient it the same direction (north/south) that it was prior to taking a cutting. It will take a month or more to root, so be patient. Hope this helps!

Greg
