Cactus/Cactus Dying?

Question
What can I do to save my cactus?  It has been growing consistently over the past two years, stems growing perfectly.  It is brought inside during the winter months,we just brought it out this Spring.  I just noticed that one stem looked diseased & shriveled, now it is petrified on the bottom.  During the decay it touched neighboring stems that are displaying small signs as well.  I haven't cut the dead stem for fear of killing the enter plant.

Help!

Thanks.

Answer
Mimi,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It sounds like it is rotting from the bottom up. Depending on how big it is and what type, you may be able to save it. If you can, send me a picture to: gregandkat@msn.com or if you know the name of the plant, respond to this post. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Greg
