Cactus/Jade

QuestionI have had my Jade plant for 10 - 15 years. I have moved it from CA to NH to CO. It has been in CO for 7 years. Mid last year it started failing. It is sparse and leggy. It still bloom every quarter but it looks terrible.
Do Jades have a life expectancy? Is there anything I can do to revive it?
I have cut off several stems and planted them and they are doing well but I hate to give up on it as a whole.
Thank You.
AnswerDear Marilyn,
Unfortunately all things have a life span, but your issue sounds like some type of root damage, especially if cuttings from the same plant are doing well. I would try using a product called "Superthrive", which can be purchased at most nurseries. Follow the directions, but make sure not to overwater.
If the Superthrive doesn't help, then you might try to repot it with all new soil. Don't try to repot though until after you try the Superthrive, because unless the plant is healthy, transplanting can damage the plant further. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Greg
