Question
We just had an Ocotillo planted in our front yard. I see where it is mentioned to spray the plant rather than just water the roots. Is this for newly planted Ocotillo as well? Frequency of watering? Thank you.

Answer
Dona,

Yes, this is for freshly planted Ocotillos'. I usually make a mound of dirt around the base of the plant so that water can't collect around the roots. Spray it off every 2 or 3 days until it produces leaves. After that, back off to once per week. After a couple of months, you won't need to water it at all. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
