Do I need to plant Barrell Cacti in sand or is potting soil OK....they are going in pots and will live in a Phoenix patio.....I currently have them in potting soil but was told to puy them in sand,,,,THANKS!!,,,,Cate

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Actually a combination of the two would be best. Mix them about 50/50 and your barrel cactus should do well. Just make sue the soil dries completely between waterings. Hope this helps.
