Cactus/Poor Euphorbia Lactea Commercialized!

Question
Good Morning!

My boyfriend just bought me a small Euphorbia Lactea for my office. The thorns have been cut off of the base. The soil is on the bottom, but on the top are light-colored gravel that's glued together. How do I know when to water her, and will she live a good life with these "deformities"? Do I give her fertilizer at times?

Thank You,

Jazmine

Answer
Jazmine,

Euphorbia's are very similar to cactus in that they don't need to be watered very often. Generally speaking if it is indoors, once a month is sufficient. As far as the deformities goes, your plant will be fine. I have had a plant with the gravel glued together and the easiest way to water was to sit the pot in a bowl or dish of water and let the water soak up like a sponge. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
