Cactus/Pruning my Large Aloe Vera

Question
I have this large Aloe Vera and the bottom arms are shriveling. There is fabulous new growth in the center. What is the proper way to prune?

Answer
Kristi,

Generally speaking, Aloe leaves will just fall off when they are ready to. You can trim them off, just cut them as close to the stem as possible. If the leaves still look OK, it is best to leave them on the plant. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
