Cactus/Red Moon Cactus Replanting Question

Question
I have a Red Moon Cactus that has an appendage growing out of the side of the stem.  It has grown quite fast and is now resting on the side of the pot.  If I cut it off, can I replant it to grow another cactus?

Answer
Tara,

You can, just cut it off and let it "heal" for about a week. Then replant it about 1 to 2 inches into the soil and water. Water again only when the soil is dry. If it roots, it will take up to a month or so. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
