I have several large barrel cacti in my front yard that I would like to remove. Is there an 'easy' way to do this?

Not really. The easiest way is to put up a sign for free cacti and someone will remove them for you. If they are really big, a nursery may be interested in them and even pay you something for them. That way, you don't have to remove them yourself.
