Cactus/Ridding cactus patch of grass and weeds

Question
I live in Texas Hill Country.  Other than careful hand weeding, how can I rid my prickly pear patch of grass and weeds without killing the cactus itself?

Answer
Dear Ruth,

Sorry for the delay in my answer. There isn't much you can do unfortunately. You can try watering down a product called "round up", but try not to spray it on the cactus itself if you can avoid it. Make sure the grass is growing when you spray it. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Sincerely,

Greg
