Cactus/Round cactus identification?

Question
Hi Greg,

I recently acquired a small round cactus and am can’t identify it for the purpose of knowing how to properly care for it.

I have no idea how old it is, young I am guessing, it is round in shape, about 2.5" in diameter at it's largest point and has very small 1/64th of an inch, if that, spines growing in vertical rows from top to bottom.  The colour is green with lighter green in vertical valleys in-between the spines...any idea?

I can take a photo if it will help?

Sincerely,

Michael Pitfield.

Answer
Dear Michael,

Actually, it could one of a thousand different varieties, and that doesn't even include the non cactus plants that fit that description. Please email me a picture to gregandkat@msn.com and I will do my best to identify your plant.

Sincerely,

Greg
