Question
My daughter just bought a zygo cactus and there were no care directions with it.  She just needs to know basic stuff such as how often to water it and how much sun does it like.  Also, I believe this is the same kind of cactus that my mom had which she called a Christmas cactus and if I remember correctly, they are tricky to re-pot???  Thanks for any help!!!

Answer
Cyndi,

It is very similar if not identical to a "Christmas cactus". They are a little different than normal cacti in that they need to be more water. Keep the soil moist but not wet. It is OK if they dry out a bit between waterings, but they will not survive long periods of drought. Also, make sure it gets strong but indirect light...and no direct sunlight.

They should repot just fine, but keeping them root bound seems to help.

Sincerely,

Greg
