Goodmorning Greg! I purchased a Zygo Cactus from Home
Depot. It is full of buds, I guess you could call them. Its
simply beautiful. My question is, will the bud things open,
and if so, will they open before Christmas. Is that the only time they will bloom. As always I appreciate your help. Just get back to me when you get a minute.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. They should open prior to Christmas or may have already opened. They generally only bloom once per year, but will not bloom next year without some help. In the weeks prior to Thanksgiving (beginning of November), place your plant in a very dark room (it must get some light) for at least 3 weeks. When you remove it, it will think it is spring time and start to put on buds.
