Question
I was given what sounds like an aloe cactus species.  It is about 2-1/2 feet tall, straight and spiny.  Does this plant have medicinal effects?  Thanks.

Dear Patti,

Generally speaking, Aloe Vera is the only variety that has medicinal properties. And what your describing sounds more like a tree Aloe. If possible, send me a picture at greg8365@hotmail.com and I'll identify it for you. At least that way I'll also be able to advise you on how to care for it. Thanks.
