Cactus/My aloe plant is bleeding

Question
My aloe vera plant has started bleeding red sap. The bottom leaves have gone black and the top leaves have all fallen out. What shall i do?

Answer
Dear Claire,

If the top leaves have fallen out, then your plant is rotting. 9 times out of 10 Aloe's will not recover from this type of damage. The best thing to do is to start looking for a replacement. If you can reply and let me know your watering habits, I might be able to help you avoid the same problem with another Aloe. Sorry for the bad news.

Sincerely,

Greg
