Question
Live in central TX.  Do Aloe Vera take a lot of sun? Do they tolerate winter weather? Think I may be watering too much but is it possible this 102-103 degree weather is too hot for them?

Answer
Dear June,

Aloes are pretty tough, I know the ones here in AZ take 115 degrees. They also grow in full sun here, although they do benefit from some afternoon shade. They won't however take too much cold. Most will not take any frost, although A. Vera will. If your getting more than 12 inches of rain per year and it is planted in the ground, that should be enough.

If it is in a pot, then only water when the soil is dry. It should be fine under those conditions. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
