Cactus/are my cacti dying

Question
Dear Greg,
I have just recently brought my three grafted cacti in from the cold air.  I have to admit that I was neglecting them.  I am confused as to whether they will live or die.  The base of two of the cacti, the dark green part, feels mushy.  There is a slight discolor on the bottom of one of the grafts.  If they are dying, is there anyway to save them?
Thank You,
Jessica

Answer
Jessica,

Sorry for bad news, but when cacti freeze like that, it causes rot that spreads pretty quickly. The bottom part is a tropical cactus that usually will not survive below 40 degrees for very long. Sounds like you'll need to replace those 2 plants.

Sincerely,

Greg
