Question
Hi I have a grafted catus with the green bottom and red top, the top part has - or rather had- little bulbs of red that looked like little cactus on it and my son just picked them all off. Is there any way i can plant the little ones and have them live?

Answer
Mouse,

Unfortunately not. The reason they are red is because they have no chlorophyll in them. Plants depend on chlorophyll to live. The chlorophyll is intentionally removed, then the plant is grafted to a normal cactus. That way, it gets food from the normal plant. Without it, they will not survive on their own. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
