Cactus/cutting out yucca

Question
I have a yucca plant that is a big as a tree.  It has several trunks from the ground.  One section is leaning on my roof and I need to remove it.  Can I cut the top off or should I just cut it from the ground? It appears to have a trunk on its own.  Would I need to seal it with anything?

Answer
Sandy,

Go ahead and cut it off. Just make sure to make the cut so that water can not collect in the cut area, in other words, make the cut at an angle. Also, you can make the cut low or high, which ever you prefer. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
