Question
hi greg, i have a euphorbia lactea that i've had for a few months, and when i got it it was very firm and solid. it is about 30cm wide and tall, fan like in shape. i water it every few weeks, but now it is getting kind of soft. am i overwatering? underwatering?
thanks,
kris

Answer
Kris,

You should only water when the soil is dry. Have you noticed ant discoloration? If so it may be rotting. And because of the shape of your plant (fan like) it sounds like Euphorbia lactea "Cristata" which means that if it is rotting, there is little chance of taking a cutting. Hopefully it will be OK, just keep watching for discoloration and cut back on the watering for now.

Sincerely,

Greg
