you could always graft another  similar caci on it or the same Genus/Species ...take a LIVE fresh or NEW and HEALTHY cacti thats the same type of species and you can cut part of that healthy one off and then  place it against the cracked or HURT part of your  old  hurt cacti....its somewhat tough to do BUT it can be done... some people use small cloth rags white ones to tie the healthy cacti portion to the other one... then you may be able to save it that way. it honestly does help it along. or do the opposite chop off the best part of the old hurt cacti and "Graft" it to a NEW cacti....then it will be saved at least part of it. email me at Darkshade1980@gmail.com if you like
