really old and given to me by a friend..i dont know how to care for
this plant beyond what he told me...water when its completely

repotting ?...its 2 feet tall and 2 & 1/2 feet wide...any suggestions
are appreciated...thanks !...ljc

Answer
Dear Laura,

The leaf die off may be normal. Without seeing a picture of the leaves, it would impossible to say what the shiny substance is. However, here is a website that may help:

I wouldn't consider replanting unless roots are protruding from the top of the soil or if it is falling over from being top heavy. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
