Cactus/What kind of cactus do I have (photo link)?

Question
Hello Greg, I was just given a nice little cactus, and I'd love to know what it is, how big it can get, and how to take care of it.  I have a west-facing window in my office, but I'd like to keep it on my desk.  Would under my desk lamp be a good spot, if it would be happy there? Any watering tips?  The photo of the cactus is on the grower’s webpage at http://www.sorensengreenhouses.com/  It's the one with the bright red top in the center of the page.  Unfortunately, they don't tell you what it is or how to take care of it.  Thanks.  Stacy

Answer
Dear Stacy,

Here is an explanation of your plant: http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Cactaceae/Gymnocalycium_Hibotan.html

Generally speaking, water like any other cactus, only when the soil is dry. Give it as much light as possible without putting it in direct sunlight. It should be fine, but be aware that this type of cactus doesn't last very long. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
