-----Question-----
There are some brown spots on the older outer leaves but none on the inner or most recent leaves. Is it a fungus or is this normal? Also, is watering once a month sufficient indoors and out if not in direct sunlight?
-----Answer-----
Glenn,

Can you tell me what kind of plant you are talking about? If you know that common or scientific name that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Greg

Answer
Glenn,

Generally a "spot" on a succulent plant is from damage from an insect. As long as there are just a few, it's not a problem. If there are a lot of spots, then you may have a bigger problem (a disease or fungus). Yes, watering once a month indoors is a good interval. Aloe Vera is a pretty easy plant to grow, just make sure it is getting bright (not direct) sunlight. Good luck,

Sincerely,

Greg
