Question
I was reading an answer you gave to care of outdoor yucca plants.  You talked about over watering.  What is overwatering?  I am watering 1/2 g/hour every other day, as the heat is around 108 degrees daily.  One yucca is starting to turn a little yellow.  Am I overwatering even at that level?

Answer
Wendy,

That depends on the type of yucca you have. Some are more drought resistant than others. Also, Yuccas can turn yellow this time of year due to the heat. You can try shading it with some shade cloth. As far as your watering schedule, it would be better to water it once per week for a couple of hours. However, you probably have other plants on your drip system that might not make it at that level.

Once it rains, that will help dramatically because of the nitrogen in rain water. Sounds like you might live in my neck of the woods, so hopefully it will rain soon. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
