Cactus/planting cactus cuttings

Question
A few branches of what I think is an organ pipe cactus broke off at the joint from the mother plant and have been resting for over a week. Should I plant them now as is, or make a clean cut into the meat of them and then wait another week before planting? I like them and don't want to lose them.

Answer
Edie, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I usually recommend at least a 2 week waiting period before replanting, so your plant should be fine. As a matter of fact, I just got around to replanting some cuttings that were sitting out for 2 months. Anyway, Your plants should be fine with the 2 week wait. Good luck.

Sincerely,

Greg
