Cactus/repotting small jade plant

Question
I'm repotting a small jade plant. I'm not sure if I should remove the old soil from the roots or leave the soil and just put the new soil around the old.

Answer
Dear Pam,

You can leave the old soil, just loosen the roots by running a small screwdriver up and down the root ball before replanting. Ohterwise the roots will continue to circle around and not grow into the new soil. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
