i just bought a cactus today may 28 2006 and im wondering how much water does it need does it need sand how many times should i water it daily evry other day three days four days five days six days or weekly should i put it in jar or a pot or mybye a pot in a piece of paper whatever your answer is thank you!

Now to your question. Cactus need porous soil (soil that drains very quickly). They should only be watered when the soil is dry and that could be a few days to a few weeks depending on the soil and how humid the enviroment is. other than that, they are pretty easy to grow....just don't over water! Hope this helps.
