Cactus/sunburned aloe vera

Question
My aloe veras were left outside too long in the heat and  got sunburned.Turned a nasty brown. Will they recover and go back to their normal color? They were very nice and healthy-I don't want to lose them. Thank you.

Answer
Deb,

That depends. Are they shriveled up? If so, probably not. Resist the urge to water them excessively and let them stabilize before you water them. That might take a few days. Aloes are touchy when it comes to watering, but if you see some new growth, go ahead and water. Leave the old leaves intact until you see a lot of new growth, then you can remove them. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
