Question
I have a 1990 cadillac Eldorado and when I try to start my car the information center says that my ignition has been disabled due to my anti theft system. I later found out that it has something to do with the wires in the steering column that have bent and broken over time and need to be replaced along with and ignition resistor. I was just wondering if you could tell me what size resistor and how to go about fixing the problem.

Answer
How did they determine that the wires in the cylinder lock are defective ?.

Possibilities that need to be verified by testing:

1. Ignition lock wires.

2. Dirty or damaged ignition key.

3. faulty PASS-KEY module.

4. Faulty starter relay.

The size resistor is determined by the ignition keys resistance.
