QUESTION: the rke will freeze .i disconnect and reconnect the battery then it will work for a minute or so .some advice was w/ key(ignition) on .....ground the black wire of the trunck pulldown mechanism then reset the key fob  on off etc...when i looked for the black wire it seemed and was grounded ...what to do.. and thx for some help.  .new battery in the remote .also i did jump the car several weeks ago but just yesterday it started..

QUESTION: the small red light of the security system on the center console stays permanently on... the RKE doesn't activate ...when i disconnect and reconnect the battery (the ground), the RKE system works for a while 10 min. or so

ANSWER: IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.


If you know HOW to check for fault codes using the climate control panel, Check to see if there are any codes and if they are History or Current codes.

QUESTION: never a check engine lite...and no diags to fix the problem.. i'll check the fault codes later today then get back to the internet .thanks so far..buzz

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture.
