I have a 95 Caddy DeVille the engine runs erratic, first fast then slow, if we unplug alternator it will run smooth. Replaced distributor and computer no change. Sometimes it starts running ok at first other times it starts running erratic right away. Any suggestions ?

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.


Did you put an amp meter on the alternator to see if it is putting out erratic amperage ?. If NOT, Do so.
