low oil pressure warning light comes on at idle. otherwise the car runs fine. On acceleration the light goes out.

If it's the sensor, where is the sensor located and how hard is it to change?

The oil pressure switch is next to the oil filter.

If you have the 4.6L engine you have to pull the engine to replace the oil pump.

What you need to do is make sure it has the correct grade of oil in it and have someone put an oil pressure gage on the engine to see what the oil pressure IS.
