Expert: autohelp - 11/14/2008

I've recently noticed my car starts when it want's to, dies while i'm driving the guages don't work and my heat works when it feels like it. Being somewhat mechanically inclined i replaced every fuse and relay in the car an credited the startin to a weak fuel pump, but i was told the computer was probably the most likely culprit. Any thoughts on what ishould do.

Computer fault is highly UNLIKELY as there are 2 computers. One runs the engine and the other operates the cooling and heating system. Chances of BOTH be faulty are poor.

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.
