QUESTION: Emergency brake will not release when transmission is put in drive. Not sure if it is in the brake pedal or back at the rear wheel. Thank you in advance. Rick That was my orgin. ?. When I try to access the ans. on"onlineautohelp.com, it will not access that site.

Answer
The most likelt fault is the vacuum switch located under the dash on top of the steering column that supplies vacuum to the emergency brake actuator in order to release the emergency brake.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL VOLT/OHM METER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
