Question
My car suddenly wouldnt start. I get a whir sporadically from what I believe is the starter when the key is turned to the on position. I took off the neg battery cable for 10 min, replaced it,and still get the same code.Key resistor circuit open or shorted to battery code 43. Could it be the key, battery or starter?

Code 43 is an oxygen sensor fault.

Your main problem sounds more like s starter problem whereas the starter bendix is sticking on the starter shaft and needs to be cleaned and or lubricated. requires removal of the starter.
