Expert: autohelp - 12/10/2008

My Caddy will soometimes just shut off. This has happened a total of 3 times in the past 3 days. It will start back up but unlike one of the other questions asked I don't loose total power. This has happened twice while putting the truck in reverse, and once while just idled.

IS or HAS the cHECK ENGINE light on the dash ever illuminated while driving the vehicle ?.

this sounds more like a residue buildup within the throttle plate area and you will require several pictures and directives showing you ho you can clean this residue.
