Cadillac Repair/Lighting

Question
I own a 1991 Cadillac Brougham D'Elegance and there is a light about 6-8 inches long inside a chrome pillar between my drivers door and the back passenger door and this is on the drivers side.  I was wondering how how this light is changed? If it is a light or type of lens that reflects light or what it is.  I am unable to get it lose or take it out and was also wondering how you would remove it from where it is.  I cannot get it to budge and I do not want to break it.  I believe they are opera lamps.  I was wondering what they are and how to change them.

Answer
On the inside of the car on the pillar behind the fabric there are nuts that have to come off in order to remove the opera lamps..

If BOTH opera lamps are not working the fault would be the OPERA LAMP INVERTER which is a large realy that changes DC voltage to AC voltage and is located on the drivers side of the trunk way up in the corner near the rear seat.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
