Question
I have a 96 caddy deville. While driving, I hit a piece of metal on my side of the road, thinking it would clear the middle of my car,  but a herd a bang, then my car stalled out and would not run after that. But it turned over with no problem. After turning key on, I did not here the fuel Pump turn on. Just wondering if I could of hit a fuel pump censer and was wondering where the fuel pump reset switch was located. looked in the trunk and under the fuse box cover under the hood. Thank you for reading and answering my question.

Answer
Cadillac does NOT incorporate a reset switch on their fuel systems.

You either have:

1. A damaged fuel pump.

2. A damaged fuel line.

3. Damaged fuel electrical wires.

4. damaged fuel pump relay.

Try this test.

1. Remove the gas cap.

2. Listen at the gas cap opening.

3. Have a helper turn the ignition switch to the ON position whereas all the dash lights illuminate, But do NOT have them try and START the engine.

4. As soon as your helper turns the ignition switch to the ON position, You should hear a buzzing noise at the fuel cap opening for only 2 seconds and then it will stop buzzing.
