Question
QUESTION: I understand I can retrieve codes with out special tools. How?

ANSWER: I retired in 2000 and am unfamiliar with the new procedure for obtaining the codes.

You can get the codes from any AUTOZONE auto parts store as they have a code scanner and they do it for free.

QUESTION: I do appreciate your response. Was there a way to do it in the earlier models? And if so will you inform me how it was done? I may give that a try.

Answer
This is for a DIGITAL display speedometer vs an old style analog (needle style) speedometer.

1. Ignition switch ON. Engine NOT running.

2. On the climate control panel push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^)
buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Watch for LETTER NUMBER combinations to appear and along with each LETTER NUMBER combination that appears will be the word HISTORY or CURRENT.

4. The fuel data display will stop at PCM?

5. Tell me EXACTLY what appears on the screen as if you were video taping it.

6. Turn ignition OFF.
